Two type of Flat cars on the layout, Idler and series 6000. All are San Juan Cars RTR or kits. Some of the Idler Flats are the remains of Stock Car bottoms adapted to Flat cars by the real railroad and used as spacing cars between other cars for long loads. I like the looks of them as they are lower to the ground and look nice and squatty. A piece of 80lb rail was bolted along the bottom edge for weight.
